Pacific Coast Cabling Secures $4.7 Million Project at California State University Long Beach

5/8/2002

CHATSWORTH, Calif. - (May 8, 2002) - Pacific Coast Cabling today announces the award of a $4.7 million contract to install a new communications infrastructure at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). The two-year project will be managed out of Pacific Coast Cabling's Orange County Regional Office in Anaheim, Calif.

The project is a total communications upgrade for the entire campus for both voice and data. Pacific Coast Cabling will install an Avaya SYSTIMAX® Structured Connectivity Solution to retrofit buildings within the campus. The project is part of a general construction project spearheaded by Helix Electric, Inc.

This will be the largest single project Pacific Coast Cabling has undertaken in its 16-year history, with 19,941 Category 5E connections to over 6,000 outlets planned. Pacific Coast Cabling will also manage the outside cable plant installation.

The solution, made more robust by using fiber products from Corning Cable Systems, will enhance communications reliability and performance for CSULB students and faculty.

"We look forward to helping the University with this exciting undertaking," said Dave Burr, president and CEO of Pacific Coast Cabling. "We have extensive experience in large campus environments and know this project will allow the students and faculty of CSULB to have a more positive educational experience."

"I wanted to take a moment to commend your team for all their hard work...What stands out the most is the fact that we did not have any issues. The jacks worked each and every time we placed phones. This allowed us to stay on track in a very short amount of time. I really appreciate the teamwork and customer satisfaction. "
