Pacific Coast Cabling Announces Formation of Networking Subsidiary

New Division to Provide Data and Voice Communications Systems with Emphasis on IP Telephony, Secure Wireless LANs and Optical Ethernet

2/1/2002

CHATSWORTH, Calif. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - February 1, 2002 - Pacific Coast Cabling today announces the formation of the Pacific Coast Cabling Networking Division, a privately-held subsidiary of Pacific Coast Cabling, Inc. The Division will operate out of Pacific Coast Cabling's Chatsworth, Calif. headquarters.

Industry veterans Allen S. Horwitz and Del Willis, who have 50 years of combined experience in the data and telecommunications industry, will lead the subsidiary.

"This is a major step for us," said Dave Burr, president and CEO of Pacific Coast Cabling. "The Networking Division complements our core business of structured cabling so we can now offer the full gamut of communications solutions, including IP telephony, secure wireless LANs and optical Ethernet. With this unique combination of solutions, talent and strong management, Pacific Coast Cabling is clearly in a league of its own."

As vice president, Networking Division, Mr. Horwitz will be responsible for design and engineering. "Our mission is to provide technology solutions that truly enhance business value at the highest level - to solve real business problems - not just to implement technology for the sake of technology," he says.

Mr. Horwitz, a former client of Pacific Coast Cabling, was most recently senior area manager for Nortel Networks Carrier account team. He has held senior engineering positions at a variety of organizations, including ADC Telecommunications, Blue Cross of California and Hughes Aircraft Corporation. He earned a bachelor of science in physical science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

Mr. Willis, vice president, Networking Division, will be responsible for sales management. "Crossover from data to voice and voice to data is difficult for many individuals. It is fortunate that both Allen and I have this rare familiarity with both."

Mr. Willis has over 25 years of sales and marketing management experience in the telecommunications and data communications industries. He has developed and executed sales strategies in both domestic and international marketplaces. Prior to founding the Networking Division at Pacific Coast Cabling, he was territory manager, enterprise sales for Nortel Networks. Mr. Willis holds a diploma of technology in telecommunications from Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.
