Q3 2006 Calendar Year Reports Issed by Dell'Oro Group and Gartner Group

In the just-released Q3 calendar year figures from the Dell'Oro Group, Cisco posted a record 65% global market share in the overall Enterprise WLAN market, which includes controllers and access points. This represents a remarkable 6% gain over the Q2 2006 share. In the critical WLAN controller market, Cisco turned in a true breakaway quarter from a share perspective, vaulting from 22% market share in the year-ago quarter to 56% today. This also represents a 16% quarter-by-quarter sequential gain over Q2 2006. In addition, Gartner Group recently recognized Cisco for its WLAN technology and market leadership. In the recently released "2006 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Wireless LANs", Cisco extended its position as the only clear "Leader" both from an "ability to execute" and "completeness of vision" perspective. Gartner has cited Cisco's execution of its Unified Wireless Network strategy as a key factor in its judgment of leaders, challengers, and niche players in this market.
